We just came back from our stay at The Parador Inn. 5/20/22 to 5/22/22. It is Great place to stay. Very warm and welcoming. The air conditioning was great. Very comfortable. Our king size bed was very comfortable. The room was large and with own bathroom. Has hairdryer, iron, frig, and robes. Decor is antique meets Caribbean. Clean and nice view. Walking distance to Pirate game. And nearby eating. Had own parking lot so you can drive somewhere and have a parking space when we returned. The breakfast was fantastic! Ed does a great job.

I am just back from my third memorable visit to The Parador. Each time I stay I learn more about the charms of The Parador (and Ed, the host) and the surrounding neighborhood. The guest rooms are large and very clean and the rest of The Inn is stunning in its’ architecture as well as its’ furnishings. Ed provides everything to make one’s stay comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast is always fresh and delicious – we never felt rushed as we sat sipping tea and coffee and chatting with others at the breakfast table. The location of The Inn is perfect – within walking distance of The National Aviary, The Warhol Museum, Three Rivers Point Park, Heinz Field and PNC Park, The Mexican War Streets area and, delightfully, Randyland, as well as numerous restaurants and pubs. Sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine one can enjoy a mosquito-free evening listening to the garden fountains and the various birds that visit the courtyard. RJ and Rayzette, Ed’s dogs, will keep you company outdoors and are very quiet and well-behaved. There is even a stop for “The T” within a several block walk of The Inn – the Light Rail Transit train will take you to the heart of the Pittsburgh business district at no cost and runs frequently throughout the day. The T makes several hop-on, hop-off stops along the way expanding one’s ability to enjoy the Pittsburgh sites which are further from The Inn. Ed’s hospitality helped to make our “sister’s getaway” a fun, comfortable and enjoyable holiday. We’d highly recommend staying at The Parador on your next trip to Pittsburgh!

  • Hi my holiday cards have been sent and many received. I just wanted to post two emails i received.

Your card came today and brought back happy memories of our stay with you. We think of that visit to Pittsburgh often and look forward to a return some day. The Parador Inn is one of a very few places at the top of our list from the many places we’ve traveled. We wish you endurance and perseverance in this difficult and challenging time as we look forward to staying with you again. (last visited 2015)

We just got your yearly holiday card. It always brings a smile to our faces. We have stayed with you only once, and it was memorable. Any time a friend mentions Pittsburgh, we always tell them about The Parador Inn. Of course we loved the labs, as we have a 10 yr old black lab, Buster, named for baseball player Buster Posey. As far as we are concerned there is only one place to stay in the Steel City, The Parador Inn. (last visited 2013)

These kind of things makes my job feel special. Thank you all.

Another fantastic vacation at the Parador! Ed, Dee and, of course, the kidz made us feel like we never left home. Great rooms, great homemade breakfast, and loads of information on things to do. Dee even went out of her way to wish Donna a Happy Mother’s Day. Love to walk to the rivers, PNC Park when the Giants are in town, and to see the neighborhoods. Looking forward to next year!

This was our second time visiting Pittsburg and we decided to look for something closer to the Steelers Stadium. Well, we were surprised to find the Parador Inn. First time on a B&B experience for us. Such an amazing place. Beautiful property. You feel like home right away. Rooms are amazing. The breakfast delicious and you get to meet two adorable and so well behave labs that just make your day even better. For us, it was a success and we are coming back for sure.Thank you Ed for your hospitality and DEE… what a friendly lovely lady! We were very impressed.
Thank you again. Fernando and Ana Laura

  • The Parador Inn is a Caribbean jewel! Ed, staff and resident pups are so very welcoming. Husband and I were very comfortable during our two night stay. The inn is located in an up and coming neighborhood with a wonderful European vibe. Walking distance to outdoor cafe’s and many attractions. We will be certain to return. Cheers Ed and thank you for a wonderful visit!

Thank you Ed for a great visit to Pittsburgh. What a wonderful, relaxing Bed and Breakfast! We attended two baseball games at PNC Park and could not have picked a more convenient place to stay. Within walking distance of the ballpark which made it so convenient. Ed had a wonderful breakfast both mornings and the company at the Inn was very interesting. Myself being a Giants fan, it was great that there were three ladies from San Francisco attending the games and staying at the Inn! Also had the ability to play with the two puppies every morning, which was a treat in itself. I would recommend staying here for any activities you may be attending at the river and surrounding area. A little place of the Caribbean in the heart of the city!

    • Thank you guys, you are why I do what I do. I love to see people enjoying my Inn and other wonderful guests.

My daughter Carey could not have picked a more beautiful place to stay with her bridesmaids the day before her wedding and the photos that the photographer captured there are enchanting. Thank you for being so accommodating with all the chaos of the wedding day preparations…hair, makeup, etc. I can’t tell friends and family enough about the Parador.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful, relaxing place. The house is not only beautifully restored, but is filled with tons and tons of interesting antique furniture, etc. Our room, the Oleander, was huge and had a long window seat (heated) with bookshelves and great views. Too many other great things to mention– it was completely relaxing. Wish we could have spent more time there– we’ll definitely be back.

    • Hi Patrick & Emily,

I appreciate your kind comments, it was a pleasure hosting your visit and do hope we can again in the future, ed

  • We just spent this last weekend at the Parador Inn. We left early this morning, around 6AM. Knowing we wouldn’t have enough time for having his delicious breakfast, Ed prepared a ready-to-go breakfast for us. That’s a small detail that summarizes our stay at this pleasant B&B: unexpectedly kind, nice, homey and very attentive. The African Tulip room was really pretty and we enjoyed its fireplace. In addition, we found Ed to be very knowledgeable about Pittsburgh. We highly recommend the Parador Inn!

    • Hi Guys,
A to-go breakfast was the least I could do. We enjoyed meeting you and hosting your visit and look forward to seeing you again. You didn’t mention how I arranged a nice sunny day for your second day since you had all drizzle on your first day. Now that was impressive. 🙂

  • We just returned from a wonderful first trip to Pittsburgh with friends! Ed, Tye, and Dee made our stay great! They were full of information on the area. Our accommodations were top notch and as described. We felt very welcomed and were able to enjoy our getaway. Thank you all for everything!!! We will be back!

We love everything about The Parador Inn. The B&B is beautiful, the rooms are incredible, the breakfast is delicious and the host(s) are very welcoming. The location is perfect for us!! Can’t say enough about this wonderful B&B!!

  • Joey & Tathiana |

We loved this place so much! Everything was perfect about this B&B. Our room was lovely and breakfast was delicious. We are planning on going back early next year, we loved it that much! :) Highly recommended.

  • The Pyle Family |

Thank you for providing us with a wonderful night’s stay and an incredibly delicious breakfast in an amazing setting! We could not have been happier with our spacious, homey and immaculate accommodations and the location was superb. An added bonus was our new friends Razor and RJ. We hope to come back again soon to enjoy the multitude of museums and restaurants Pittsburgh has to offer!

My wife and I stayed at the Parador in January. We had looked online at various B&B’s in Pittsburgh and chose it because of the neighborhood appeal as well as its dog-friendly policy (albeit limited). Despite freezing temperatures without, the Parador’s tropical wall murals and general Caribbean vibe kept us feeling warm throughout our stay. But speaking more literally, the place was indeed well-heated and quite comfortable, even in the Carriage House where we bunked. We arrived a little behind schedule but Ed was kind enough to wait up for us and give us all the information we needed for our stay. We were quite satisfied with the rooms and services provided, enjoyed breakfast the following morning, and would definitely recommend the Parador to anyone planning a trip to Pittsburgh.

  • We come to visit Pittsburgh at least once or twice a year from Cleveland. We really love the city – now I’m looking forward to our next visit so we can stay at your place. Which room would you recommend? They all look wonderful….

Looking forward to meeting you and Razor and RJ!

  • There are not enough adjectives to describe the Parador. Amazing, unique, awe-inspiring – none of these quite capture the charm, beauty and Caribbean whimsy that makes this place so special. And who would have thought we would find this treasure in Pittsburgh? Certainly not me. But we did and I cannot say enough about it. Take a breathtaking Victorian mansion, restore it with loving care and impeccable authentic decor – then add some bright and unexpected interior colors, a sandy “beach” outside, the shadows of palm leaves on the walls, a Key West style sun room, a black lab and a great host named Ed and you have The Parador. And don’t forget the superb breakfasts! There is no detail Ed has overlooked…even down to the small, but powerful, flashlight on the bedstand so you can use the “facilities” without waking your husband by turning on the lights (or tripping over your feet). Thank you for being there Ed. We will return. I want to try every room!

I stayed for two nights at the Parador this past weekend. I have been to many B&Bs (which I prefer to the sameness of the chain hotels) in various cities. The Parador is by far the BEST. The location was great as was the breakfast that Ed made for the guests. I had the Chenille room and it was a beautiful room. I especially liked the stained glass window and the claw foot tub. I actually hated to leave the Parador. This former mansion is lovely and the veranda is delightful. It’s nice and relaxing to sit out there and read or have a cup of coffee. I plan to stay at The Parador Inn again this summer. Razor and RJ add to the charm!

We stayed with Ed about 1 year ago. It was awesome! Delicious breakfast, awesome home/building with plenty to see. I would def stay here again and would highly recommend the Parador Inn to friends and family. Great place, great price, great guy and great dogs – nuff’ said.

  • We came down to stay a night & to see a Steelers game while in town. The location was perfect for the game – you could throw a rock at the stadium! We were pleased to see how charming & original the interior of the Inn was. Our accomodations were more than what we expected & the staff were very nice & informative. Ed made an amazing breakfast of melba waffles, pumpkin bread & melon parfaits. Overall, a very nice stay. Not only would we recommend, but would stay again if we ever come back to the area!

  • We stayed two nights in the Bougainvillea and were very pleased with it. Ed makes a terrific baked oatmeal entree and whips up creative breakfast parfaits. Razor is a well behaved black lab who still has a fair amount of puppy in him and enjoys playing with the guests. The patio has comfortable furniture and the courtyard is lush with flowers and shrubs and is very quiet. The Parador’s location makes it an ideal place to stay if one desires to go to Heinz Field, PNC Stadium, the Science Center or to stroll / bike along the riverfront. If one has trouble with climbing stairs, then perhaps the Bougainvillea is not the room to get, as it involves two flights of stairs to reach the bedroom and bathroom. Other rooms at the Parador seemed to be located on the second story. Nearby are a McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Seven-Eleven, and Ed can recommend other places in the vicinity of the Parador for one to explore.

  • I just returned from my niece’s graduation, and the Parador is where I chose to stay. I thought the inn was most charming, and Ed was a wonderful host. My room was very spacious and the breakfasts served were great. I loved the antique clocks, the chandeliers and the lovely garden. I will definitely stay there again if I have another opportunity to visit Pittsburgh.

My fiance and I stayed here for a weekend and Ed was fabulous and the house was even more fabulous… We love the area the house is located and the service was truly wonderful!!! We will be back soon 🙂

  • My daughter had her wedding there on May 22. Absolutely fabulous, even with the rain. Ed was wonderful and very easy to work with. Breakfasts were delightful. Highly recommend the Parador Inn. Love the dogs, Razor and RJ. Hint: Don’t try to hang tulle outside with RJ around. He thinks it is a toy.

Location, location, location. This Caribbean B & B located in the North Shore, an older. quieter area of Pittsburgh that is a short 10 to 15 minute walk to downtown. It is also, from a retired police offier’s point of view, in a safe neighborhood. My wife and I walked every night after dark and were always comfortable. Our room was not just clean, it was immaculate. Soft Caribbean music in the background, every breakfast was an experience in gourmet dining. Ed is a gracious host and is a walking encyclopedia of where to go and where to eat. Razor and RJ add the homey touch. Why would anyone even consider staying anywhere else?

  • Annette Szlachta-McGinn |

My husband, Mark, and I love the Parador Inn. The inn is beautiful, with historic charm and fun Caribbean flair. The bedrooms are elegant and comfortable, Ed is a gracious host who makes superb breakfasts, Razor and R.J. are friendly canine hosts, and the housekeeping staff is efficient and accommodating. In addition, the location is easy to find and convenient to the many things Pittsburgh offers. Mark and I are glad we found the Parador; it has become a home away from home for us when we visit our children, who are students at Pitt. We look forward to our visit every time.
